Naruto Uzumaki became the Hokage of Konohagakure after reaching the top and saving the world in the Fourth Great Ninja War. After Kakashi Hatake resigned, Naruto finally realized his dream of achieving the greatest title, along with the recognition of the people, and since then he has loved it.
Although being the Hokage of the village certainly has its advantages, there are quite a few things that Naruto Uzumaki can no longer enjoy due to the immense responsibility that the title of Hokage brings.
10 Naruto can no longer perform missions as a ninja
One of the most fascinating aspects of the series Naruto It was seeing Naruto Uzumaki face various missions head-on. At times, these tests turned out to be extremely difficult and raised the intensity of the story quite a bit.
10 things Boruto can already do that Naruto couldn’t (as a kid)
Boruto: 10 things Naruto would be doing if he wasn’t Hokage
With Naruto as Hokage, he can no longer leave his village to go on missions. The various Jonin you have working under you take responsibility for you. Knowing Naruto, he would surely like to go on missions himself.
9 Naruto can no longer afford to play pranks
A key characteristic of any protagonist in a shonen series is the joy they bring to those around them by making them laugh. Fans certainly enjoy this look of their favorite characters all the time, and Naruto was no different.
However, since he became the Hokage of the village, Naruto can no longer play pranks or make fans laugh. His responsibilities are too great to be devoted to such trivial things.
8 Naruto can’t train all the time
During his genin days, Naruto used to train all the time. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that he was an incredibly hardworking ninja, just like Rock Lee. Looking back on his life as a ninja, Naruto has always been training to improve and achieve the title of Hokage.
However, now that he has the title of Hokage, he no longer has the need for improvement. In fact, he’s so busy with work all the time that he can’t find time to train anymore.
7 Naruto couldn’t be more involved in the story
Naruto was the protagonist of the series Naruto, so it goes without saying that it was the center of everything Kishimoto built around it. Now, the story revolves around Boruto, and while Naruto is the Hokage, he’s not going to be as big a focus of the story as he was in the predecessor series.
Also, becoming the Hokage means that Naruto is rarely called into action, if at all, and that most of the work is done by Boruto and his team of ninjas.
6 Naruto Uzumaki can’t travel the Shinobi world
Naruto spent a lot of time traveling the shinobi world back in the day and this is something he certainly enjoyed as it played a role in his growth. Now that he is the Hokage, Naruto is glued to a place.
Paperwork floods him all the time and his presence in the Hokage’s office every day is extremely important. Naruto can no longer leave the village and wander the world like his mentor Jiraiya did.
5 Naruto can’t track the Otsutsuki with Sasuke
Naruto and Sasuke are two of the most accomplished ninjas today and humanity’s only chance against the Otsutsuki clan. One would like the two of them to track down the Otsutsuki together; however, that is no longer possible.
As Sasuke searches for the clues the Otsutsuki left behind, Naruto sits in his office and watches over the village. For Naruto, helping Sasuke hunt down the Otsutsuki clan is no longer an option.
4 Naruto can’t enjoy time with his family
The Hokage position comes with an immense amount of pressure, along with tons of responsibilities. To be sure, Naruto has never endured this much pressure in his life and while he is a capable leader, something has to give in order for him to continue to do his job properly.
Sadly, it is Naruto’s time with his family that he sacrifices so that he can do his job properly. Obviously, this does not sit well with some members of your family.
3 Naruto can’t be there for Himawari and Boruto in times of need
Naruto’s children Boruto and Himawari are very young right now and they need someone to guide them. As a young ninja, Boruto will have his ups and downs, while Himawari would love to have the comforting presence of his father.
Sadly, Naruto cannot fill either of those roles, as his job as the Seventh Hokage takes up most of his time and means that he doesn’t always go home with his children.
2 Naruto can’t train Konohamaru Sarutobi
Konohamaru Sarutobi is Naruto’s apprentice and, like him, aspires to also become the Hokage. Konohamaru has been training under Naruto for years and has undoubtedly improved.
However, he can’t do it anymore, now that Naruto is the Hokage. Furthermore, Konohamaru’s own responsibilities as Jonin also prevent him from training under Naruto’s command.
1 Naruto cannot enjoy a healthy life
Although becoming the Hokage was Naruto’s dream, it certainly isn’t a fun experience for him. Countless times Naruto had exhausted himself, and since he’s an Uzumaki with unlimited chakra, that shouldn’t be the case.
There have been times when he has spent consecutive nights in his office and others when he has simply passed out. Naruto’s life is very unhealthy for him and it is not nearly as good as it was back in the day.
