The world of Naruto is filled with strong ninjas, but not so many good parents. The main priority for ninjas has always been to get stronger and gain new powers. Some of them were consumed by their lust for power, which led to their downfall.
Others, who managed to control their desires, were preoccupied with their work. Most of the characters in the story ignored their duties as parents. They have been away from their families for long periods of time for one reason or another. Given that there is no shortage of bad parents in Naruto and its sequels, the question arises: who is the worst parent in the series?
Kaguya Otsutsuki
Kaguya Otsutsuki was known as the Rabbit Goddess. She ate the chakra fruit thousands of years ago before the current story and ended up becoming the chakra’s progenitor. Kaguya had insane power that allowed her to easily destroy the planet.
At some point in his life, Kaguya had two children: Hagoromo and Hamura.. Kaguya’s sons remained loyal to her until they found out about the horrible deeds she had done. Kaguya felt threatened by her sons, and she fought them for a very long time. Fortunately, she lost the fight and was locked up forever. Kaguya lacked compassion, and she didn’t care that she had to kill her sons to maintain her dominance.. All of these things make her a terrible parent.
Fugaku Uchiha
Fugaku Uchiha was Itachi and Sasuke’s father. He loved Itachi very much, and always showed how proud he was of his eldest son. According to Mikoto, Fugaku also loved Sasuke, but he never showed him affection..
That’s why Sasuke often overextends himself to prove he’s as good as his brother. Fugaku’s lack of parenting skills showed once again when he agreed to be killed by Itachi. He didn’t really think about what would happen to Sasuke after his death although he was slightly worried.
Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha is a splendid ninja; in fact, he is one of the greatest ninjas of all time. Sasuke was raised in a loving family, but Itachi’s decision to kill them all left him alone. After the Fourth Great Ninja War, Sasuke had the opportunity to start his own family with Sakura.
Sasuke and Sakura have a daughter, Sarada Uchiha. It is Sakura who mainly takes care of her., as Sasuke spends most of his time on missions. Once again, it’s strange that someone who knows the value of a family has failed to become a good parent.
rasa
When we talk about bad parents, we think about Rasa. He was the fourth Kazekage of the Hidden Sands Village, and he was completely obsessed with gaining power. Rasa was ruthless and aggressive in his approach, and this was reflected in his parenting methods. After locking Shukaku in Gaara, he repeatedly tried to kill him.
To the point that Rasa sent Gaara’s uncle to assassinate him. All these incidents traumatized Gaara so much that he ended up hating everyone. He saw himself as a weapon to destroy things.
Haku’s father
Haku was orphaned under extraordinary circumstances. Haku’s father was a normal human, while his mother was a Kekkei Genkai user. Haku’s mother had hidden her powers because people were hunting Kekkei Genkai users. Unfortunately, Haku also inherited Kekkei Genkai’s powers.
When Haku’s father discovered his Kekkei Genkai, he rounded up the people of the village and killed his wife. Haku was mortified after seeing his mother killed. We can say that if Haku had not killed his father, he would have died too.
Jigen
Before Isshiki Otsutsuki took over his body, Jigen was just an ordinary monk. The Otsutsuki was able to easily take over Jigen’s body and mind. The monk gained unimaginable powers, but he lost his identity. Jigen’s task was to find the next vessel for the revival of the Isshiki Otsutsuki.
He experimented on many children, including Kawaki. Jigen treated Kawaki like an animal. He beat and abused him frequently. This filled Kawaki’s heart with hatred, and the young boy came to trust no one.
Naruto Uzumaki
Some might think it’s overkill to call Naruto a bad parent, but his actions prove that the doom-headed ninja is not a good father. Naruto knows exactly how it feels when you don’t have parents, so you’d think that would have made him a great father.
However, Naruto is clearly more concerned with his duties as Hokage. He missed his children’s birthdays which negatively impacted them, especially Boruto. Surprisingly, he paid more attention to Kawaki than to his own son.
Hagoromo Otsutsuki
Hagoromo Otsutsuki is also known as the Sage of the Six Paths. Kaguya’s eldest son, he has long ignored the actions of his mother. He ended up rebelling against her and locked her up. Hagoromo in turn had children. He had two sons, Indra and Asura Otsutsuki.
In order to find his successor, Hagoromo gave his two sons a test which they passed in different ways.. After careful consideration, Hagoromo appointed Asura as his successor. Therefore began an intense quarrel between Asura and Indra, which would last for thousands of years. Hagoromo, who was considered incredibly wise, made a rather stupid decision and didn’t even try to stop his sons from fighting.
Minato Namikaze

It’s arguable that Minato Namikaze (whose manga will be released soon), Naruto’s father, could be considered a bad father based on certain elements of their relationship. First, Minato sealed the Nine-Tailed Fox Demon into Naruto from birth, which had a significant impact on his son’s life. Although this decision was made in the interests of protecting the village, it also placed Naruto in a position of marginalization and loneliness, as he was ostracized due to his connection to the demon. Minato was unable to remedy this situation, which left Naruto without a father figure to help him through the emotional and social challenges he faced.
Additionally, Minato has been absent for much of Naruto’s life. As Hokage, he was often busy with village affairs and couldn’t devote enough time to his son. Minato’s absence deprived Naruto of the opportunity to learn from his father and receive crucial emotional support during his childhood and adolescence. It also led to some neglect on Minato’s part towards Naruto.as he was unable to recognize and process his son’s feelings of abandonment and misunderstanding.
He is important to note that these arguments are not intended to insult Minato Namikaze or deny his good intentions as a father. He made tough decisions and did his best in the complex context of his role as Hokage and protector of the village. However, looking at the father-son relationship between Minato and Naruto, one can understand why some might consider Minato to have lacked some essential aspects of being a fully present and supportive father to his son.
