Who has never dreamed of seeing the adventures of the most famous manga heroes intersect for an episode? Well do not dream, because it has already happened! In April 2013, a 48-minute short film titled Dragon Ball ZX Toriko X One Piece was indeed broadcast on Japanese television, on the occasion of the cinema release of the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods.

A few years before the broadcast of this special episode, a cross-over manga titled Cross Epoch designed by mangakas Akira Toriyama and Eiichirō Oda had already brought together the universes of the Dragon Ball and One Piece series (both available from Glénat editions) in a story that is both full of adventure but also humorous. In 2011, Oda repeated the experience, this time with his friend Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro, author of the Toriko manga (Kazé editions).

It is therefore logical that the universes of these three mangas have come together for this exceptional short film, the summary of which is as follows: “The International Gourmet Organization is launching a tournament for the biggest meat eater, the first prize of which is a leg of divine meat, coveted by the Gourmet hunter Toriko, the super-warrior San Goku and the elastic pirate Luffy.”

The short movie Dragon Ball ZX Toriko X One Piece is referenced as the 590th episode of One Piece. Due to its official but non-canon character, it is however not offered on ADN, the only platform to offer the series in its entirety. It is therefore unfortunately impossible for French fans to see this episode, via legal channels.
