What are the clues we have about One Piece?
Concretely, One Piece has been around for 25 years now. And in 25 years, fans and readers alike have had time to develop many theories about the nature of the famous treasure. And until chapter 967, we actually had relatively little clue as to the nature of the One Piece. Nevertheless, at the end of December 2019 comes the famous chapter we were talking about in which fans were able to discover a flashback of Roger’s trip. Nevertheless, the manga One Piece contains extremely strong human values like friendship or respect, which are actually the foundation of the manga and have led fans to believe that the One Piece would be immaterial and that it would actually be a message left by Joy Boy, then by Roger.
The message would then more or less correspond to the saying “The important thing is not the destination, it’s the journey”, thus explaining that the experience acquired by the characters of the manga would have more value than a possible treasure. However, Eiichiro Oda recently took the floor to totally demystify this theory. The author also took the opportunity to deliver an astonishing clue about the real nature of the treasure of One Piece.
Eiichiro Oda delivers a clue to One Piece
If you’ve been following the news around the future of One Piece, you have most certainly heard of the speech of Mayumi Tanaka, the seiyu (voice actor) who plays the character of Luffy in the anime. It was during an interview translated and shared by OROJAPAN on Twitter that the famous voice actor revealed some details about a conversation she reportedly recently had with manga author Eiichiro Oda.
Although Mayumi Tanaka clarified that she did not yet know how the story of One Piece was about to end, she expressed the will to live until the last episode. She also revealed that she, like many fans, believes that the treasure of the One Piece could be related to the friendship between the characters or to the emotional bonds which unite them. However, Eiichiro Oda denied this theory by explaining that the treasure One Piece is real and not intangible. It would therefore truly be a physical treasure that the characters in the manga should be able to touch. No doubt the character of Nami must have rejoiced in this announcement.
