Amid all the hype surrounding the recently released “One Piece film red” trailer, perhaps many forgot that the Netflix original live-action is still quietly in production. However, this new series had a moment of attention thanks to the reveal of some photos of the new Going Merry, the first ship of Luffy’s crew.
As seen in the photos, the most striking, at first impression, is the crest of the ship. Many users mocked the ram’s gloomy appearance for having its mouth open. “It looks like a cult ship”, “Why does it have the face of :O? Because he just remembered his future”, were some of the reactions.

Photos of Monkey D. Garp’s boat had previously been released and many fans were also not happy with the theme of the crest. At that time they said that he looked more like a dog than a snake. Similar to this case, others defended the images by commenting that it is not finished yet. However, it is clear that, at least for now, the crest for the live action of “One Piece” does not resemble the model of the anime.
