The age of the characters, information that may escape fans

It is July 1997. One Piece debuts in the Japanese magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump. 25 years later, One Piece is the best-selling manga of all time. Eiichirō Oda’s work brings together fans around the world with each new chapter. The next one is also particularly expected, because it could lift the veil on one of the biggest mysteries of the manga.

Luffy and his companions have therefore had many adventures since the first volume of One Piece. Their age and their premium is no longer the same. do you know How old are the main characters of One Piece now? Obviously, time doesn’t flow the same way for them as it does for the fans.

The heroes of One Piece have great years ahead of them

To know the age of Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates, you have to look at volume 4 of One Piece, released in August 1998 in Japan. Eiichiro Oda answers questions from fans and clarifies the age of the Mugiwaras.

I received many, many questions about this. Guess you’re interested! Well, Luffy is 17, Zoro is 19, and Nami is 18. Regarding Shanks, as I haven’t had any news lately, I can’t answer you. I can only tell you that he was 27 years old when he left Luffy’s village. As for Usopp, he is the same age as Luffy.

As fans know, a two-year ellipse intervenes in One Piece. Currently, Luffy and Usopp are therefore 19 years old, Zoro 21 years old and Nami 20 years old. Nico Robin is 30 years old, as we learn in volume 24 (chapter 218). Chopper is 17 years old in human age, indicates Oda in volume 19. Sanji is the same age as his best enemy Zoro, reveals volume 7 (chapters 54 to 62). Note that for these last three characters, we have added the two years of ellipse to the age mentioned in the volumes of the manga.
