It is already common knowledge that Yoshihiro Togashithe author of the franchise still in publication of HUNTER x HUNTER, suffers from physical problems that prevent him from drawing comfortably, so now he relies on his team of assistants to continue the serialization of the manga. However, a leak from the next issue of the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump already indicated that this model of work did not work in the long term either, so the manga will be suspended again.
The message wrote:
- Thanks for reading HUNTER x HUNTER. Regarding the publication of the manga, chapter 401 et seq., we have spoken with Togashi-sensei about his state of health, and as a result, we have decided to publish HUNTER x HUNTER in a format other than weekly serialization.
- Togashi-sensei will continue to write the following chapters, and the editorial department will continue to support him until the completion of the manga. Specific publication dates and methods will be announced in future issues of Weekly Shonen Jump. Thank you for your continued support of HUNTER x HUNTER.
This leak comes from the combined 5-6 issue of the magazine, which will be released on December 26 in Japan. This edition will include chapter 400 of the manga in question, same as it will be the last one before a new suspension that will be to decide how the new chapters of the work will be published from now on.
The manga began publication in March 1998 in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from the publisher Shueishaless than a year after the start of the publication of one piece. Yoshihiro Togashi there have been numerous long breaks in the publication of HUNTER x HUNTER since 2006, some of which were due to illness and chronic back pain, while the reasons for others were never disclosed.
Synopsis for HUNTER x HUNTER
HUNTER x HUNTER is set in a world where hunters exist to perform all manner of dangerous tasks, from capturing criminals to valiantly searching for lost treasure in uncharted territories. Twelve-year-old Gon Freecss is determined to become the best hunter he can be in the hopes of finding his father, who was a hunter and abandoned his family long ago. However, Gon soon realizes that the path to achieving his goals is much more challenging than he ever imagined.
On the path to becoming an official hunter, Gon befriends the lively doctor-in-training Leorio, the vengeful Kurapika, and the rebellious ex-assassin Killua. To achieve their own goals and desires, the four of them together take the Hunter’s Exam, known for its low success rate and high probability of death. Throughout their journey, Gon and his friends embark on an adventure that puts them through many difficulties and struggles. They’ll meet a host of monsters, creatures, and characters, all while learning what it really means to be a hunter.
