“We’ve been working with Netflix and Tomorrow Studios on the huge project that is the Hollywood live-action series adaptation of ONE PIECE! How many years has it been since it was announced right? I know, I know. for sure we’ve been making steady progress all along. It’s not easy when working with people from different cultures! But it’s precisely that process that can lead to something special. For now, we can announce the main cast! Rather, we have to hurry to announce it, or it will leak, apparently! Hilarious, lol. Their face, the size of their mouths and hands, their aura, the way they carry themselves, their voice, their acting skills, their height, the balance between the Straw Hat team, etc…”, commented Oda in the first official statement which announced the news of the distribution of One Piece. “We have decided on this cast after numerous discussions involving people from all over the world! These are the people who will be our Straw Hat Pirates! It will take a little longer to finish this series, but we will continue to do our best.” to deliver a series that we’re sure everyone will like. Please look forward to more updates in the future.”

On the other hand, Maeda and Owens added: “We are so excited to set sail with this incredibly talented cast! Finding the right people to portray the look, emotions, and actions of the iconic Straw Hats has been a long and challenging (and fun!) process. Just like the search for One Piece itself. But we’ve finally found the perfect fit! They’ve already started working really hard to bring these characters to life. You’ll get to know and love them as much as their manga counterparts! All of us can’t wait to show you what we’ve come up with! On with the adventure.”
