#1 Gege Akutami –jujutsu kaisen
In an interview for the newspaper Le Figaro, Gege Akutami explained that his favorite character was initially Sakuna because of his design. But Nanami Kento was the first one he developed on his own, becoming his later, much more personal favourite.
#2 Tite Kubo -Bleach
My favorite female characters are Rangiku and Yoruichi. They don’t care what people think of them. I have a lot of fun drawing them and creating stories with them. I also like Kon. He’s so carefree, everyone loves him one way or another.

#3 Tsugumi Ohba & Takeshi Obata – death note
L is the favorite character of the authors behind Death Note. They explained that they created this character with four hands and two brains, which makes it very special for them.
#4 Yuki Tabata – BlackClover
My favorite character is Charmy Pappitson, a hybrid between dwarf and human. I thought of this character by imagining her as my wife. I find it very amusing to draw my wife in a manga.

#5 Shinichiro Watanabe – cowboy bebop
In an interview for Red Carpet News TVwe learn that the favorite character of the creator of cowboy bebop is like many Spike Spiegel fans. He loves the character so much that he confessed to fans that he didn’t actually die at the end, he was just taking a nap.
#6 Hajime Isayama – the attack of the Titans
At the start of writing the manga, Hajime Isayama’s favorite character was Jean Kirstein, but as he evolved, he explained to the Japanese media February that it is now Reiner Braun. However, he never went into too much detail other than that it was one of his favorite characters to draw, understandable since he is one of the important characters in the series.
#7 Boichi –Dr Stone
The only character I really like is Kohaku. She is my favorite and I wish I only had to draw this character. I ask you, Dr. Stone fans: please only buy action figures of this character.
interview for Anime News Network in 2019.
#8 Masachi Kishimoto -Naruto
The case of Masachi Kishimoto is particular. He is a real weather vane and his answers in interviews are never the same, depending on his mood, what he is drawing at the moment or not. He cited several names, including Hinata, Shikamaru, Killer Bee because he reminds him of his editor on several points, in particular his passion for rap and wrestling. But the one that comes up most often is Sasuke and we explain why here.
#9 hirohiko araki –jojo’s bizarre adventure
Until then, I’ve always drawn all my characters as cool heroes. But I admit that [avec Josuke]it was the first time that I described the protagonist not as a character, but as a friend.
Interview with Japanese actor Shosuke Tanihara.
#10 eiichiro oda –one-piece
One Piece is a work with multiple endearing characters. Yet Oda’s crush isn’t even a member of the Straw Hats. It’s about Gaimon, the man stuck in his trunk on Rare Animal Island, for over 20 years now. He explained it many times, especially in a cross interview with Akira Toriyama.
#11 akira toriyama –dragon ball
And justly, the creator of dragonball is like many fans. Goku is his favorite character. But unlike other mangaka, he also talked about a character thathe hates: Vegeta. He doesn’t understand why it’s so popular with fans, and therefore doesn’t have any good ideas for using it.
#12 Naoko Takeuchi –Sailor Moon
My favorite character is Tuxedo Mask (The Masked Man). I like guys who look good in tuxedos. But the character that most resembles me should rather be Sailor Moon, unlike Sailor Uranus who does not resemble me at all.
#13 tappei nagatsuki –Re:Zero
There’s no doubt it’s Emilia. Emilia in first place, all the others in second. It is impossible to change this ranking. After all, Re: Zero started because I wanted to write about Emilia.
#14 hideaki anno –neon Genesis Evangelion
My favorite character is Asuka. Simply because it’s the cutest. American fans however prefer Misato, while Japanese prefer Rei. They don’t know how to handle strong women like Misato and Asuka.
Interview during theAnimeExpo Roundable from 1996.
#15 atsuko ishizuka –a place further than the universe
I really like Hinata Miyake. As the most representative character of a high school life, she has a very simple but very dark past. It’s something you can sympathize with. With such a painful past, coming to a resolution is all the more rewarding.
