One Piece author says ‘it was normal’ for him to go 2-3 days in a row without eating

The life of the mangaka is not easy. I think that with names like Kentarou Miura (“Berserk”), Yoshihiro Togashi (“Hunter x Hunter”) and Ai Yazawa (“Nana”) that is clearer than water. However, in case anyone still has the slightest doubt about it, now it has arrived neither more nor less than Eiichiro Odathe author of “one piece“, to talk about what they possibly are some of the worst health habits I’ve ever seen a person.

Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), with a day to day life that is not particularly healthy

These new statements arise from the collaboration between “One Piece” and “Detective Conan” recently, and basically leave us with the following key ideas (via AnimeHunch):

  • The main topic of the conversation is how the mangaka’s life affects and affected Eiichiro Oda, and basically the author comments that the first thing he noticed was that he began to gain weight very easily. ❌
  • The subject of weight is something that Oda-sensei does not like to discuss, but he assures that to counteract the effect of his life as a mangaka I would go up to 2-3 days in a row without eating anything at all. This was something that didn’t cost him ‘too much’ to fulfill, especially since he didn’t have time to eat and was almost always half asleep. ❗
  • Oda-sensei also says that this is something he could do since he knew that after this period could be rewarded with barbecues and meals in style (I was not stupid, that’s for sure). ✔️
  • Even though he has been a mangaka for a long time now, Oda-sensei says that still having trouble controlling your weight. Again, it’s something he doesn’t like to discuss in the slightest. ❌

Honestly, it’s sad to see how someone who works so hard for himself and for all of us has such ‘simple’ problems in his day to day life. In addition to the whole food issue, the author of “One Piece” also says that eventually he had to give up football, a sport he loved, because his physical condition was far from what it was. I just hope that once he finishes “One Piece”, Eiichiro Oda will take the vacation (or retirement) of his life, because he really deserves it.
