There are more and more reasons to get excited about One Piece Odyssey. After the joy (and surprise) that was supposed to visit alabasta in gameBandai Namco today released a new trailer confirming the presence of a third and fourth kingdom: Water 7 and Ennies Lobby. The places where one of our 10 favorite manga and anime story arcs.
At Water 7 and Ennies Loby the historical fight between Usopp and Luffy. He too I want to live! of Robin and the tearful farewell of the Merry, whose little voice we still remember thanking us and saying “I would have liked to take you a little further”. It was the arc of first beating to the mugiwara, the awakening of Gear Second and the moment when the whole gang received an important power up (climate tac, monster point…). When Sogeking and Franky joined the band. When the World Government was challenged and when we met Cipher Pol, with such a memorable Rob Lucci enough to be in charge of opening the trailer on these lines.
As with Alabasta, the levels of Water 7 and Ennies Lobby will be accessed through waford island, corner of the Grand Line where most of the game takes place and which has been created for the occasion by Eiichiro Oda himself. Our visit to said places will be like “travel to the past“. We will start from Luffy’s memories, but do not think that we will limit ourselves to reliving what happened in their respective arcs, but that we will have freedom to explore and discover “many changes and variations”. It will be as if the mugiwara returned to Water 7 and Ennies Lobby for the first time after the time skip.
One Piece Odyssey will go on sale next January 12, 2023 and it will do it for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. It will be the brand’s first game in a long time, but for a LONG time (too long) that it will abandon the musou genre and seek its fortune among JRPGs, where it saves clear reminiscences with Dragon Quest. We will see if Bandai Namco and ILCA, its creators, those responsible for the remakes of Pokémon Pearl and Diamond, they have more surprises in store for us between now and launch. I wish.
