One Piece Odyssey: Gameplay
After multiple adaptations of the famous One Piece, this time we will be entitled to a real turn-based JRPG that has been slightly revised. This is confirmed by a recent video from the development team. In this, we notice first of all placement of characters, an important detail in the clashes. It is also a placement that moves away from the usual hexagonal boards. To go further, the game trailer gives us a better overview of the game and its components.
At first, the gameplay of One Piece Odyssey shows us perfected fights, with random events implemented in the game. You will thus notice certain enemies highlighted, and more difficult to beat. As announced above, the fights are not the basis of this role-playing game. One Piece Odyssey also largely focuses on exploration and adventure. Moreover, each character in the game has a unique exploration skill. This is the case, for example, of moving in Luffy’s Gum Gum Rocket. You would have understood it, Captain Luffy will be the main character in this game. You can embody it, and try to find all your companions scattered on the island.
In addition to Luffy, the game will also feature the Straw Hat crew. This consists of: Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Nico Robin, Franky and Brook. They are all playable, and you can decide to start the adventure in the skin, the fur or the skeleton of one or the other. Just remember that each character is distinguished by its particular skills. In addition, in a nature not conducive to walking, you encounter formidable enemies, who have been living on the island for some time.
In the announcement trailer, we were able to notice the presence of a new character. He is a rather tall man, with long light gray hair and tattoos on his arms. He fights with two revolvers. Later in the video, we learn that his name is Audio. He will be accompanied by another character, Lim. Both, just like the other characters in the game, were created in cooperation with Eiichiro Oda, the creator of the manga.
