It’s already time for a first real assessment for the last feature film dedicated to the One Piece saga. While Toei Animation announces incredible figures on the Japanese side, the One Piece Red film continues its conquest of Europe and has not finished shaking the box office!
One Piece RED: Japan conquered, but the others?
Very widely acclaimed in Japan, One Piece Film RED pulverizes many records without complex thanks to the unconditional fervor of a public of fans who moved massively to support its cinema launch. In just 9 weeks, the film One Piece RED thus displays nearly 12 million admissions for an estimated turnover of 112.48 million euros as of October 17, 2022. The author of the original manga, Eiichirô Oda, can be proud of the success of his saga which seems to generate as much enthusiasm in its original format as through its latest film adaptations. Especially since, after Japan, One Piece Film RED looks set to hit very hard also on the side of Europe where the feature film continues to cast off, one step after another…
One Piece hits Europe with special events
If, in France, fans of the One Piece manga and anime were able to rush to cinemas to discover One Piece Film RED from August 10, other countries in Europe and elsewhere have not yet been served. In particular, Toei Animation plans to release the film on the following dates for the countries listed below.

- Spain: November 3, 2022
- Italy: December 1, 2022
- United Kingdom and Ireland: November 4, 2022
- North Africa and Middle East: November 3, 2022

- Sweden: November 4
- Iceland: November 4
- Norway: November 18
- Finland: January 2023
And to celebrate the release of the feature film, some countries will be entitled to special events whose nature Toei Animation has just specified. In Germany and Austria, for example, a special Bandai Namco Europe truck in the colors of One Piece had crisscrossed the streets at the beginning of October while a giant straw hat could be seen at the Hackescher Markt. In Italy, the whole city of Lucca should be invaded by references to the film during Lucca Comics & Games 2022. Director Gorô Taniguchi, producer Hiroaki Shibata and head of animation Masayuki Sato will be present as part of most of the premieres programmed in these different countries.
One Piece Film: Red is loved by millions of Japanese, French and Dutch fans.
