One Piece has shared a disturbing revelation from Zoro with the newest chapter in the series! As the war across Onigashima continues to its climax, the final battles of the arc are now underway as Luffy battles Kaido on the roof of the Skull Dome and Law and Kid occupy Big Mom downstairs. The rest of the fights across the island were settled with the recent series of chapters, and fans got to see how Zoro earned his new victory against King. But it also came at a major cost to his physical health and his future.
Previous chapters saw Zoro push himself with the use of Oden’s ancient sword Enma in the fight against King, and he took a bunch of damage on top of how he was already injured in the fight against Kaido. and Big Mom atop the Skull Dome from before. He was able to push his body to this extent thanks to Chopper’s medicine, but it was soon revealed in the final chapter of the series that the medicine had a huge downside. He’s actually now suffering twice as much pain from all the damage he’s accumulated and really getting closer to death than ever before.
Chapter 1038 of the series revisits Chopper and he reveals that he is very worried about Zoro. In exchange for that quick burst of healing he got from the medicine, he had to take twice as much damage soon after. Thus, he hoped that Zoro could win the fight as soon as possible because he was previously so injured that he couldn’t move, and now this effect has been doubled. As we catch a glimpse of Zoro shortly after, he is unable to move his body, which literally triggers death to the face.
The grim reaper’s face looms above his head as he is unable to dodge it and prepares to drop his scythe. He begs for it to stop, but unfortunately we don’t see what’s next. Luckily, there’s a ray of hope in Franky trying to get to Zoro and find him before it’s too late. Zoro may be near death, but we’ll see what’s next soon.
But what do you think? Are you afraid for Zoro’s life right now? How do you think he’ll do? Was his body too damaged by all that fighting to recover?
