Why is this so important? We’d like to take you back to when Seraph Mihawk razed a considerable portion of a mountain and Blackbeard used haki for the first time in the series.
Seraphim aren’t inherently powerful because of Lunarian genes, but because of the Shichibukai lineage factor that helps them grow. The Seraph Mihawk was capable of such a display of power thanks to the abilities and memories of the original Mihawk. The question that arises is: if the Seraph grows, will he, at some point, be able to gain the power of the current Mihawk?
The second interesting detail is that zoan fruits have a will of their own, unlike Paramecia and Logia. We didn’t know the reason before, but now we do. This is because zoan fruits contain the lineage factor of a living being and are therefore capable of retaining memories.
Zoan revivals often upset the personality of the original userturning them into simple-minded beasts (like jailer beasts). The same thing happened to Luffy during Gear5. He lost all sense of fear and was overwhelmed with joy, but he retained his original identity.
According to the Gorosei, the world government tried to acquire the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika for almost 800 years, but they were never successful. The reason could be that it contains the bloodline factor of Joyboy (Nika), and the world government will never get it.
Now, what if Luffy completely lost control of himself like the prison beasts? In this case, he would fully become the original Nika and might even retain some memories from the past like chapter 1065 suggests. If he remembers ancient history in the middle of a fight, the hype is unimaginable. A way for Oda to use this as a way to drop important story hints in the future.
