A few months ago, we made you discover a first salvo easter eggs that you’ve probably never noticed in One Piece. Today, we plan to bring you some new details, this time around, highlighted by fans. Universe One Piece is composed of a large number of volumes, for its paper version, and very many episodes regarding its anime adaptation. It is therefore not uncommon to miss certain winks and other hidden details. Fortunately, we have compiled for you 12 new easter eggs and details you probably haven’t noticed.
# 1 The manga volume 61 cover is similar to the volume 1 cover with the new crew members
# 2 some characters’ bounties have hidden meaning
The Shanks bounty digits 4, 8 and 9 can be read as “shi”, “ya” and “ku”. In katakana, these three characters are present in the name of Shanks. This is also true for other characters. The syllables formed by the digits of the premium of Big Mom write the word “mom” (88), for Kaido his epithet “One Hundred Beast” (110), for Whitebeard the word “white” (46) and for Gol D. Roger his first name (648).
# 3 the manga chapter 310 cover was heavy on meaning
At the bottom right of the cover of chapter 310, we can see written “Shibakaru” which means “I’m going away for a while”. This announces in particular Robin and Usopp’s departure from the crew at Enies Lobby. We can also see the Kozuki emblem as a pattern on Luffy’s kimono.
# 4 hotspots in the anime are inspired by places that actually exist
# 5 Luffy and Franky wore the exact same shirt
# 6 The story behind Ace’s mustache
In this illustration, Ace can be seen sporting a fake mustache. It was a way of showing that Ace was indeed the son of Gol D. Roger, before formalizing it a little later.
# 7 More than 12 years have passed …
In chapter 84 of the manga, Octo explains that he is the second best swordsman in the Pisces Men. Much later, in chapter 629, we are introduced to Hyouzou, the greatest fencer of this species.
# 8 The circle has come full circle
In Usopp’s introductory arc, the character explains that the Navy got it wrong with Luffy’s wanted notice, believing that the bonus of 30 million berry was normally awarded to him. When the hacker finally gets his first wanted poster, his premium amounts to 30 million berry.
# 9 But where’s Luffy?
# 10 Zoro described Sanji as a prince without knowing he really was
# 11 The crossed out “S” on Ace’s arm is a tribute to Sabo
The crossed out “S” in Ace’s tattoo probably refers to Sabo. It would be of a kind of homage to the symbol that could be found at the top of the mast of his ship. If Sabo hadn’t been presumed dead, the tattoo on Ace’s arm would only have been made up of the three letters forming his first name.
# 12 Usopp can be seen on Zoro’s wanted poster
