Eiichiro Oda sent an emotional letter and Shanks’ straw hat signed by himself.

Eiichiro Oda is the creator of One Piece and it is not usual for him to make an appearance in public life. The strict working hours that he dedicates to his work during more than 20 years, so when Oda speaks it is news around the world. The following story has moved all One Piece fans because Eiichiro Oda has made an emotional gift to a fan.

The surprise came in a tv show Japanese. A One Piece fan named Surika traveled from India to Japan to be part of this show without knowing what awaited him. During the program he had to talk about his passion for the pirate series, but he had a big surprise prepared for him. Surika was greeted by Shanks’ voice actor Shūichi Ikeda, who handed him the straw hat while reciting the phrases of the mythical scene. Voice actress Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy) read Ode’s words: “Nice to meet you, Surika-san! I read your letter. So your dream is to create the best IT company in the world… Sounds great. From my experience as a dreamer who has achieved his goal, I can only tell you one thing: dreams come true“, explains Oda in the letter.

“I have something for you today, Surika-san. It’s a straw hat with my signature. In a few years when your company asks me to collaborate, I will definitely accept. Will you be able to meet me at that time and give me back my hat?”, the mangaka continued with a great wink at Shanks and Luffy.
