One Piece tome 100 n°1
In a press release, the French manga publisher One Piece indicates that the 100th volume of the manga has been published in France. Available since December 08, volume 100 would have sold 131,270 in three days according to figures from GFK First Weekly. A colossal success according to Glénat:
This feat made One Piece volume 100 the No. 1 in book market sales on its launch week.
An enthusiasm for Luffy’s adventures which matches the publisher’s expectations for this new volume: last week, Glénat indicated that it had printed 250,000 copies, i.e. as much as a Goncourt prize. But this excitement for One Piece does not stop at the last volume! In the press release, Glénat declares that 11,843 copies were distributed during that same week.
In 2021, manga still at the top in France
And if it is common knowledge that France is the second largest consumer of manga in the world (behind Japan, of course), France has shown its love for manga blockbusters in recent weeks. On edistat, a site specializing in the analysis of book sales, we can note the presence of three manga among the best sales of comics in the last fifty-two weeks: the first volume of Naruto ranks second behind volume 39 of Asterix but ahead of volume n ° 1 of Demon Slayer. Naruto Volume 2 ranks fourth.
