The country of the Wa has its new swordsman
Posted on October 25 on her Instagram account, this cosplay of the French Shaows takes over the famous character. Roronoa Zoro comes to life in our world of flesh and bones in female features. For the occasion, the magnificent handmade costume of the artist takes up the outfit of the bow of the land of the Wa. In this story arc of One Piece, the plot takes place in a land inspired by feudal Japan. If this outfit sticks to the aesthetics specific to this era, the original design of the character also refers to it. Indeed, the iconic wide green belt he wears on his stomach is a Haramaki. Originally, it is a cuirass intended to protect the abdomen. It was worn by samurai in the 16th century.
By the way, the sword visible in the photo is Shusui, one of the 21 great blades in the manga universe. This weapon will take a central role in the development of Zoro during the arc mentioned above. If Shaoows’ outfit is true to the work, there are certain freedoms welcome. For example, Zoro’s usually closed eyelid is here replaced by a totally white eye. Zoro’s messy cut is also transformed into a bob to give a more feminine style. In the past, the seamstress and model had already adapted other characters from Eiichiro Oda’s manga. On her Instagram account, we can notably see her made up as Sabo, Nico Robin, Luffy or even Boa Hancock.

Zoro, a still popular character
He is one of the most famous swordsmen in the world. Whether in the manga or the animated series, Roronoa Zoro fascinates fans. In 2021 it happened second in the One Piece Official Character Popularity Ranking organized by the manga’s Japanese publishers. With voters from all over the world, he came in front of characters such as Nami, Sanji or even Trafalgar Law. Of course, he remains behind the main character of the work: Monkey D. Luffy. Appearing from chapter 3 of the work, he is one of the characters present for the longest time. Delivered by Luffy to a Navy base, he is also the latter’s right-hand man and the oldest member of the Straw Hat Pirates’ crew.
