Since its introduction in 2020, Yamato has become one of the most popular characters in the series. The new figure of the warrior who idolizes Oden was revealed in the Megahouse collectibles manufacturer website. The company also released a YouTube video showing a full 360-degree turn of the new statue, which portrays a Yamato defiantly smiling proudly with his huge mace behind them.
The statue accurately recreates a number of small details of the popular character’s costume, including the emblems on his kimono and the exploding handcuffs that originally prevented his escape from Onagashima. The figure captures Yamato’s imposing stature and stands nearly 11 inches tall. Pre-orders for the new statue, which has a suggested retail price of 25,960 yen (about $200 USD at current exchange rates), will open on May 6.
The company celebrated this announcement with the following message: “To “ONE PIECE” fans all over the world! Kaido’s son, Yamato will appear in POP with an expression of will strong and a majestic yet beautiful standing figure. We think it’s a long-awaited gem, so please look forward to it!”
The role of the great Yamato in One Piece
The One Piece anime recently resumed its adaptation of the Wano arc after six weeks and will have a special focus on the role that Yamato will play in the next chapters.
