Zoro’s statue is the last in the group of 9 One Piece memorial statues.
One Piece is a work by Eiichiro Oda that has left its mark on the hearts of fans for its creative plot and endearing characters. Due to its success both in its home country and around the world, in this author’s homeland of Kumamoto, Japan, decided to pay homage to him with the presentation of the last commemorative statue. Said statue has the shape of the character Roronoa Zoro.
Namely, this is not the first time they have paid tribute to him in this way, in fact, it is of the ninth memorial and is dedicated to the Straw Hat swordsman, which is currently in the Ozu region. Now, in the beautiful statue of Roronoa Zoro, this character uses the style of the 3 swords (as a clear reference to his desire to be immortalized in this iconic position). On the other hand, the figure of Zoro was also accompanied by an illustration identical to the finished statue, with a signature of Eiichiro Oda.
In fact, ironically, the statue of Roronoa Zoro was the last to be placed, so that it would complete the group of One Piece memorials, located at various points in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It is important to mention that this great tribute made as a thank you to the author of this popular series when he donated much of the profits generated by this franchise to help rebuild his hometown.
At the same time, it is known that several of these statues boosted local tourism during the year 2020, as they became landmarks for One Piece fans visiting the city where Eiichiro Oda was born. And better yet, now you can take pictures with the stars of your favorite series.
However, there is still a pending question about this very interesting project; As we mentioned before, only the nine statues of the One Piece protagonists had been contemplated, but with the introduction of Jimbe, as the tenth member of the Straw Hats, it is likely that at some point he will also have his own bronze statue.
