The 25 highest-grossing movies of 2022

The exorbitant collections in the seventh art industry seem to be a thing of the past. 2019 was the last successful year, that time nine films surpassed the worldwide figure of one billion dollars at the box office, among them: “Avengers: Endgame”, “The Lion King” and “Joker”.

Then came the covid-19 pandemic, which had a great impact on this industry, movie theaters were closed for months, while the production of new stories, filming, and premieres were delayed.

This 2022 only two new releases managed to surpass the billion dollar feat and required Tom Cruise in the long-awaited return of “Top Gun”, 35 years after the first installment, and the conclusion of the Jurassic franchise of science fiction and adventures with “Jurassic World: Dominion”.
