Eiichirō Oda involved in One Piece Odyssey
Will One Piece finally have the right to its video game adaptation worthy of the name? One Piece World Seeker was expected as the messiah. But the game largely disappointed fans upon release, despite its lofty ambitions.
An open-world title packed with fan-service, like One Piece Odyssey. What already to worry that history repeats itself. Maybe. But one element greatly reassures the community: the involvement of the creator of One Piece Eiichiro Oda in the game (even if it was already the case on World Seeker). In addition to monsters, the mangaka has created a new character that went quite unnoticed named Adio.
Adio Suerte, friend or foe?
In a video interview, producer Katsuaki Tsuzuki details Eiichirō Oda’s involvement in One Piece Odyssey.
Oda himself designed the characters and monsters that breathed life and the very essence of One Piece into the game world. world faithful to the universe of One Piece as it is already presented in the manga and the anime.
The trailer already shows us the result of the work of the ILCA studio and the involvement of Eiichirō Oda. We can see the new character created by the mangaka, Adio Suerte. With his imposing stature and his stylish tattoos, we already feel that he is not lacking in charisma. Even if Adio seems to take pleasure in hitting Luffy in the trailer, the character would be an ally of the Mugiwaras. Like them, it should be playable, both in combat and in the exploration phase.
One Piece Odyssey will be released in 2022 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PC. Don’t expect to find out what One Piece is, even though Eiichirō Oda revealed this to his editor recently.
