Crunchyroll adds Ranking of Kings to its catalog
Recently, Crunchyroll updated its catalog with the Top 12 episodes of the series Ousama Ranking (Ranking of Kings). This series is available both in Japanese with subtítulos in español, as with Dubbing to Spanish.
Wit Studio, Japanese studio responsible for anime like Attack the titans, Great Pretender Y Vinland Saga, is behind this animated project. Yousuke Hatta, episode director at One-Punch Man and assistant director at Boogiepop, will be the director of the anime, with Arifumi Imai as assistant director. Taku Kishimoto (91 Days, Fruits Basket, Moriarty the Patriot) will be the scriptwriter, while Atsuko Nozaki (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky) deals with adapting the original character designs to anime and Masaki Kawake of the secondary character designs. Makoto Fuchigami is credited as chief director and Masaru Oshiro, Shin Ogasawara Y Nozomu Fujii they are listed as main entertainers. MAYUKO will be in charge of the musical composition.
The original work of Ousama Ranking is a web manga fantasy and comedy written and drawn by Sōsuke Tōka published since 2018 on the portal Manga Hack from Creative Entertainment. The editorial Enterbrain currently publishes the series in its magazine Comic Beam, having already launched in the Japanese market a total of 11 volumes like good.
The story centers on Bojji, a deaf and powerless prince who cannot even wield a child’s sword. As a first-born son, he tries hard and dreams of becoming the greatest king in the world. Yet people whisper about him behind his back. Bojji is able to make his first friend, “Kage” – a literal shadow on the ground who somehow understands Bojji well. (Kage is a survivor of the Kage assassin clan who was practically wiped out. He is no longer an assassin, but needs to steal to make ends meet.) The story follows Bojji’s coming of age when he meets various people in his life, beginning with his fateful encounter with Kage.
