Crunchyroll begins to absorb the content of Funimation in Mexico to become the largest anime library in the world

It was a matter of time, merger between Crunchyroll and Funimation is a reality. Through a publication on the Crunchyroll blog, they confirmed that as of today they will be receiving a lot of content from Funimation and Wakanim.

The company clarifies that Funimation currently has a presence in more than 52 countries and 10 languages. Sony’s goal is all anime is unified under the Crunchyroll brand. Other brands involved are the subsidiaries of Wakanim and VRV.

As of March 1, 2022, a lot of content will begin to arrive that is available on other platforms such as ‘My Hero Academia’, ‘Naruto Shippuden’, ‘JUJUTSU KAISEN’, ‘ODDTAXI’, ‘Tokyo Revengers’ and ‘Fruits Basket’ among others. others. The arrival of content will also apply with its available dubbing and subtitles.

In the case of the new series programmed for the spring premieres, will be arriving exclusively on Crunchyroll. In the case of Funimation, they will only continue to add new episodes of the series that are already underway.

Users who have a subscription to Funimation, Wakanim and VRV will have a special offer to have 60 days of Crunchyroll for free. It is expected that in the next few days they will receive an email to confirm that they are eligible.

At the moment it has not been revealed if users who have Funimation annual subscriptions will be able to convert their account to Crunchyroll or if they will simply have to make a new payment.

In the future, Sony promises that Funimation subscribers will be able to log into Crunchyroll, but at the moment there is no exact date for the movement.
