First list of theaters of the live-action of Tokyo Avengers

the distributor Digital version announces the first list of cinemas that will project the live action from tokyo avengers, based on the play by Ken Wakui. This initial list has more than 80 movie theaters and that they have already released pre-sale tickets for the premiere of the feature film. Although, as Ángel Sala told us in our interview, the distributor plans to reach approximately 150 cinemas in Spain for its premiere next April 22. This adaptation for the big screen of tokyo avengers was released in Japanese theaters on July 9, 2021, ranking number one in the Japanese box office in its first weekend. The premiere of the film was originally scheduled for October 9, 2020. However, due to the health crisis, this date had to be delayed. The film is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa (kakegurui, Miseinen dakedo Kodomo ja Nai), while the rock band super beaver performs the main musical theme of the feature film, the song that bears the title “Namae or Yobuyo”.

As for the original work, Ken Wakui’s manga began publication in the magazine Weekly Shonen Magazine from the publisher Kodansha in March 2017. The work currently has a total of 26 compilation volumes for sale in Japan and over 5 million copies in circulation, although it is currently in its final arc. In addition, the manga won the award for best shonen at the 44th edition of the Kodansha Manga Award 2020. In Spain the manga is published by the hand of Editorial Standardcurrently having five volumes for sale.

In addition to this, the work has an animated adaptation that was broadcast between April and September 2021 with a total of 24 episodes. Hatsumi (Deadman Wonderland, gangsta) is in charge of project management, while Yasuyuki Muto (Deadman Wonderland) is the screenwriter. kenichi ohnuki (Golden Kamuy) was in charge of character design and Hiroaki Tsutsumi (jujutsu kaisen, Children of the Whales) of the composition of music.
