We are already in January 2023, and that means that the winter season will begin very soon in the anime world. After the historic autumn premieres, it’s time to prepare for the debut of long-awaited series like NieR: Automata or for the return of works like Vinland Saga or Tokyo Revengers. There is a lot of hype in the air, although unfortunately also some controversy…
A few days ago it was officially shared the new opening of tokyo revengers, whose second season will premiere on January 8 exclusively through Disney +. So far so good, the surprising thing came as soon as many users realized that one of the scenes in this intro is exactly the same as in another anime. What exactly is happening?
Is Tokyo Revengers copied from To Aru Majutsu no Index?
- The user sekkyoku He was one of those who sowed the seed of doubt in the situation that I am going to explain below✅
- At a certain point in the opening theme of Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown, you see Takemichi running to save Hinaso far so good👱🏻♂️👩🏻🦰
- The funny thing is that We already saw this same scene in the second animated intro of To Aru Majutsu no Index (2010)❗❗
- It is possible that the animators of LIDENFILMS have been inspired by Index or even wanted to pay tribute to him, but it cannot be ruled out that it is plagiarism❓
In these cases it is best for everyone to judge for themselves. In my case I have decided not to give it too much importance. I think we are before a scene that is often repeated a lot in the anime world (the protagonist running and holding out his hand to his partner/romantic interest to save her from something). However, I have to admit that what they did in the opening of Tokyo Revengers is a carbon copy of what is seen in To Aru Majutsu no Index.
What do you think?
