The Issue # 45 from this year’s magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine has published this October 6 a special chapter from the popular manga of Ken Wakui under the title Tokyo Revengers – Side Chapter ZERO. The same author is behind the creation of this chapter, whose publication had previously been announced through different media. Although, no details were given about the argument of the same.

Ken Wakui the publication of Tokyo Revengers, original manga, in March 2017 on the Weekly Shônen Magazine, from Kodansha, and currently remains open although it has already entered its final arc. The series currently has a total of 24 volumes compilations for sale in the Japanese market, with the latest available since last September, and has a fanbook. In addition, the work won the award for Best Shônen in the 44th edition of Kodansha Manga Awards 2020.

In Spain, Editorial Standard has recently taken over the publishing rights to the manga. The adventures of the boys of Tokyo Manji will reach the Spanish market next 12th of November, with the sale of the first and second volume. The work will feature a double volume edition 400 pages and size 11.5 x 17.5 cm., with double dust jacket and a price of € 16.00 each volume. Another detail is that the periodicity of the series will be initially monthly and that at its launch Editorial Standard will have a initiation pack which will include the first two volumes at the reduced price of 16,00€.

Ken Wakui’s series enjoys a anime adaptation whose first season aired between April and September 2021. The studio Liden Films stands behind the animated production with Koichi Hatsumi (Deadman Wonderland, Gangsta) in charge of project management, while Yasuyuki Muto (Deadman Wonderland) is the scriptwriter, Kenichi Ohnuki (Golden Kamuy) is in charge of character design and Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Jujutsu Kaisen, Children of the Whales) of music composition. In Spain, the entire season is available through the Crunchyroll in original version with Spanish subtitles.

In addition, Warner Bros. Japan is behind the Film adaptation from Tokyo Revengers, that the past was released July 9th clinching number one at the Japanese box office in its opening weekend. The tape is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa, who was already in command of the live-action of Kakegurui.

Takemichi Hanagaki has hit rock bottom in his life. One day he discovers that the only girlfriend he ever had, back when he was in high school, the beautiful Hinata Tachibana, has been murdered by the Tokyo Manji gang. The day after finding out about his death, he is waiting for the train on the platform when a horde of people push him onto the tracks. He closes his eyes thinking that he is going to die, but when he opens them, without knowing how, he has gone back 12 years in time. Now that he has returned to his best moment of life, Takemichi decides to take revenge for his life by saving his girlfriend and changing that way of being hers from which he always fled.
