The second part of Free! The Final Stroke will premiere on April 22

Kyoto Animation announced this new project in August 2019, but its production and premiere had to be delayed for different reasons, including the serious arson in the study in July 2019. Finally, Free!: Dive to the Future began its broadcast in ABC, Tokyo MX, VAT, BS11 Y AT-X on July 11, 2018 and ended with 12 episodes. The last adaptation of the franchise was the film Free! ~Road to the World~ Yume, released in Summer 2019. This was a “re-adaptation” of the Free! The story revolves around Haruka Nanase, a boy who has always liked to submerge in water and swim. Before graduating from elementary school, he participated in a swimming tournament alongside his fellow club members: Rin Matsuoka, Makoto Tachibana, and Nagisa Hazuki. After achieving victory, each of the boys went their own way.
Time has passed and after years without seeing each other, his friend Rin, who went abroad and now has returned, challenges Haruka to a swimming competition to show him how much he has improved over the years. Haruka doesn’t intend for that to end there, so she gathers Makoto and Nagisa, her old classmates from the elementary swim club that Rin also belonged to, and a new member named Rei Ryugazaki to form the Iwatobi High School Swim Club in order to beat Rin and her new team from a rival high school.
