Tokyo Revengers is among the best-selling publications in Spain
Manga has made history again in our lands. If a few weeks ago it was announced that the first volume of Haikyû! became the best-selling publication after its release on the market, it has happened again with Tokyo Revengers: the joint release of the first two volumes of the manga Ken Wakui has been done with first place from the most sold this month of November in Spain.
The editor of Editorial Standard, Oscar Valiente, has announced on his own account Twitter that the pack, launched on November 12, outsold the Planet Award 2021 written by Carmen Mola, The beast, rising as well as the most requested publication in Spain, above any other book, magazine or novel. Also, after a few days have passed, Tokyo Revengers is found as the second best-selling publication, staying on the podium.
Editorial Standard is in charge of publishing this manga shonen and he has done it in a spectacular double volume edition 400 pages and size 11.5 x 17.5 cm., with double dust jacket and periodicity monthly. The publisher offered for the launch a initiation pack with the first two volumes at the reduced price of 16€ and prepared a macro event to celebrate its release to the market where, in addition to opening stores at midnight to be able to acquire it as soon as possible, as in the Otaku Center of Madrid, own Norma Comics presented a space dedicated to manga with interactive screens and even a photocall characterized and with cosplayers.
Ken Wakui the publication of Tokyo Revengers in March 2017 in the magazine Weekly Shônen Magazine, from Kodansha and currently the work remains open although it has already entered its final arc. The series currently has a total of 24 volumes compilations for sale. The manga won the award for Best Shônen in the 44th edition of Kodansha Manga Awards 2020.
In addition to this, the work has an animated adaptation that aired between April and September 2021 with a total of 24 episodes. The study Little Hatsumi (Deadman Wonderland, Gangsta) is in charge of project management, while Yasuyuki Muto (Deadman Wonderland) is the screenwriter. Kenichi Ohnuki (Golden Kamuy) was in charge of character design and Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Jujutsu Kaisen, Children of the Whales) of music composition. In Spain it can be viewed through Crunchyroll in original version with Spanish subtitles.
In addition, Warner Bros. Japan is behind the Film adaptation from Tokyo Revengers, that the past was released July 9th clinching number one at the Japanese box office in its opening weekend. The tape is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa, who was already in command of the live-action of Kakegurui.
Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his high school girlfriend Hinata Tachibana has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was killed by a group of villains known as the Tokyo Manji Gang.
