Tokyo Revengers Live-Action Movie Will Get A Sequel In 2023

Live action adaptation of Tokyo avengers manga is getting a sequel movie in 2023 as announced earlier today. The first film premiered on July 9 in Japan, after being delayed from the originally scheduled October 9, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Warner Bros. Japan is producing the film and a trailer has been revealed:

The film is based on a manga by Ken Wakui. The manga has been ongoing in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017. Kodansha publishes it in English and describes the plot as follows:
While watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his longtime middle school girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, has passed away. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a shitty apartment with thin walls and his six-year-old boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and utter virgin… At the height of his life at his lowest point, he suddenly leaps back twelve years to his college days!! To save Hinata and change the life he spent on the run, Takemichi, a hopeless part-timer, must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!

An anime adaptation by LIDEN FILMS airs throughout the spring and summer 2022 anime seasons. The second season is also scheduled for release in 2023.
