The Japanese animation industry always has a lot to offer in terms of new content and it is increasing year after year. After the sensational debut of the manga tokyo revenge by Ken Wakui, it didn’t take long for the first echoes of an adaptation to be heard. And this was indeed the case in 2021 with a first season of 24 episodes.
Now, all eyes are now on Tokyo Revengers Season 2.
the manga by ken wakui debuted in Japanese publisher Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2017. Since then it has come a long way and now totals 27 volumes. With the success of the franchise, it was announced in June 2020 that it would be entitled to an animated adaptation. And that’s what happened on April 11, 2021 under the leadership of Liden Films.
While Tokyo Revengers first season ended on September 19, 2021, fans were immediately informed that the anime was being renewed for a second season. As for the release date of the new season, the producers of the anime series have not revealed anything about it yet. On the other hand, we can expect a return at the end of 2022.
The plot of season 2
In season 1, we quickly notice that the Tokyo Manji-kai gang is imposing and has charismatic members in its ranks. Manjiro Sano “Mickey” and Ken Ryūgūji “Draken” are the perfect illustration of this. Apart from these examples, characters like Keisuke Baji, Chifuyu Matsuno, Takashi Mitsuya, and Atsushi Sendo also attract attention.
You will undoubtedly find these characters in season 2 of the anime. As a reminder, Takemichi is surprised to find himself at the head of one of the most important divisions of the gang. However, this is not the time to rejoice, because a plot seems to be brewing against him.
Season 2 should therefore resume on these events. And since the adaptation strictly follows the story of the manga, season 2 will also adapt the Black Dragons arc. During this arc, the Tokyo Manji-kai will face an even greater threat than the previous ones and risk leaving feathers there.
The number of episodes
Just like the first season of Tokyo Revengers, season 2 will also have the same number. Season 2 will also be available on the Crunchyroll streaming platform. For the first season, here’s how it looks.
- Odds and Ends
- No pain, no gain
- once upon a time
- no way
- turn around
- dead or alive
- One and only
- One for all
- end of war
- A cry baby
The first season of Tokyo Revengers allowed the adaptation of the first 73 chapters. The second season will therefore follow chapter 74.
