The popular Japanese leaker Ryokutya confirmed from a leak in the next issue of the magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine that a second live-action film based on the manga written and illustrated by ken wakui, tokyo avengers, is in production. The premiere is scheduled for the year 2023 in theaters in Japan, while the production team and cast remain unchanged.
The first film was announced in February 2020, directed by Tsutomu Hanabusawith dashes of Izumi Takahashi and music composed by yutaka yamada. The cast includes Takumi Kitamura, Yuki Yamada, Yosuke Sugino, Nobuyuki Suzuki, Hayato Isomura, Shotaro Mamiya, Ryō Yoshizawa Y Mio Imada. The film was going to be released in theaters in Japan on October 9, 2020, but was delayed until July 2021 due to the continuing effects of COVID-19.
ken wakui the publication of the manga began in the magazine Weekly Shōnen Magazine from the publisher Kodansha in March 2017. A twenty-four episode anime adaptation produced by studios LIDEN FILMSunder the direction of Koichi Hatsumi and scripts written by Yasuyuki Mutopremiered in the season of Spring-2021 (April-June) in Japan.
Synopsis for Tokyo Avengers
Takemichi Hanagaki’s second year of high school was the high point of his life. He had respect, a gang of friends he could count on, and even a girlfriend. But that was twelve years ago. Today she is a nobody: a rickety nothing who is made fun of by children and who is always forced to apologize to her youngest boss. A sudden news about the cruel murder by the Tokyo Manji gang of the only girlfriend he had with her brother only adds insult to injury. Half a second before a train ends her pitiful life forever, Takemichi recalls that same day twelve years ago, when she was still dating Hinata Tachibana.
After being forced to relive the same day his downward spiral began, Takemichi meets Hinata’s little brother. Without thinking, he admits his apparent death before going back in time. Takemichi urges her to protect her sister from him before inexplicably returning to the future. Miraculously, he is not dead. Stranger still, the future has changed. It seems that Takemichi can alter the flow of time. Given the opportunity to prevent the tragic death of his ex-girlfriend at the hands of the Tokyo Manji gang, Takemichi decides to fly through time to change the course of the future.
